Winter Bazaar 2009

Every year the NDNSP hold their annual bazaar. As well as being one of our major fundraisers, this is a special day when the school community comes together to share in fun, co-operative work and excitement. For some it is a one-day event. For others it's the culmination of a year's work and this is certainly true for the craft stall. The wonderful display of home-made crafts is a real tribute to the ingenuity, imagination and creative spirtit of this dedicated and hard-working group. The fur-lined washing up gloves guarantee that the NDNSP will have the fanciest cleaners this year! There are books to inspire all tastes and toys to beat the band. You might say it is a unique NDNSP form of recycling where families donate toys only to meet their offsprings at the end of the day with possibly double the quantity ready and eager to refill the toy cupboard. Home produce, fruit and vegetables make the hall into a market garden. The food served on the day is wonderful and all this to a background of Emer's groups singing and playing Christmas Carols. We have a very special visitor too and Santa was kept very busy with lots of eager fans. It is a day when the very best sense of community in the NDNSP comes alive. The beneficiaries are the children who reap the reward of a job well done through the resources the school can provide with the money raised. Here are some photos of the very many people who helped on the day. To everyone who shared in the day we would like to say a big 'thank you'!
