SUMMER
By: Lisa Murray (2nd class)
Summer is a time of fun.
Children playing in the sun.
Children playing by the sea
And the boats they can see.
Mammy Daddy having a rest,
Enjoying weather at its best
When the crowd is gone home,
The sun will not be alone
It will continue to shine
On Nature all the time.
PLAY SAFELY
By Sharlene Ruske (3rd class)
Remember children,
When outside at play,
Don't talk to strangers,
They might take you away.
They might be nice,
They might give you sweets,
But not every person
is nice that you meet.
The Fat Cat
By: Oonagh Mc Gowan (Senior Infants)
I saw a fat cat,
He was sitting on a mat,
I looked again,
And he was gone,
He chased a big fat rat!

My Little Sister
By: Damien Lee (5th class)
I have a little sister,
She's called Helena Lee,
She does nothing only sit on Mammy's knee!
She puts everything in her mouth,
And wow! Can she shout!
When she runs around,
She falls back on the ground,
And with her twenty teeth,
She can really chew some meat.
She jumps on the chairs
And jumps on the beds,
Sometimes she even hits me on the head!
You've got to love her anyway,
Even the way she acts every day.
She's everything I ever wished for,
My little baby sister!
Oh! My Poor Teeth
By: Dara Mc Quade (5th class)
I never bothered with my teeth,
I never thought of buns too sweet!
Chocolate bars and sweets galore,
Always wanting more and more.
Lollies, gum, crisps and biscuits,
All were bought with shopping tickets,
Getting off with half the price,
Thinking that the shop was nice.
Ice-cream was my favourite dish,
Something I would never miss.
Now I have no teeth to chew with,
And Boy! I wish I'd looked after my teeth
Hong Kong Pong!
By: Stephen Connolly
There was a young man from Hong Kong
Who smelled terribly strong
But he didn't care,
He was anxious to share
His terribly strong Hong Kong Pong!
