Volume 1, the Beginners Guide, in the series The Art of Uilleann Piping, has proven very popular and is an invaluable guide for those starting on the pipes. Volume 2, Intermediate Guide is now available. This release brings the piper onwards from the Beginners Guide. The Intermediate Guide is over 80 minutes long and the tuition is presented by Nollaig Mac Cárthaigh and Gay Mc Keon, the same tutors as on Vol. 1. |
The six sections in Vol. 2 are: - Triplets and Popping; Further Triplets and Technique; Slow Air Playing; Using Drones; ‘E’ Cran; ‘D’ Cran. There are six tunes used, one in each section. The notation of these tunes is provided, along with eleven others, in the accompanying booklet.
The video is endorsed by two professional, internationally-renowned, pipers, Paddy Moloney and Liam O’Flynn.
