Return to NPU Catalogue

This is Leo's first CD, an ambitious and rare treat in solo piping, inspired by the old recordings of Leo Rowsome, Liam Walsh, William Andrews, Liam O'Flynn, Séamus Ennis and Johnny and Felix Doran. Leo began his piping career in 1976,  and has played with   several  contemporary bands; Clann Eadair, Cry Before Dawn and In Tua Nua to name but a few.  He contributes much in the area of session work and pipe teaching for NPU, especially at the Willie Clancy Summer School and regional Tionols.  The following quotes encapsulate the positive reception of his debut CD from the piping world!

'I really enjoyed listening to this recording.  It certainly stands out from the wash and busk of many.  Here's a rare opportunity to hear the uilleann pipes in an uncluttered setting, performed here with warmth, style and expression by Leo.'     Paddy Keenan

'Since Leo's first recording, a four track demo called Piping Hot, I have been waiting for this fully fledged album.  The promise shown in Piping Hot has been fulfilled - and how!'    Martin Nolan

'If it's uncluttered piping by a great piper you are looking for, this is it!' Mick O'Connor
