Paul OConnor MRIAI is a Developer-Architect with 26 years experience in the fields of architecture, construction and property development; with particular skills in infra-structural development, commercial development, large-scale housing, eco-friendly architecture and sustainability. Combining the skills of the architect and construction professional with the knowledge and experience of the property developer ensures a quality design product that maximises the potential value and return of every development opportunity.


Founded in 1995 and based in Ireland, the practice of Paul OConnor Architect is currently involved in developing commercial and residential projects in Ireland and investigating and advising on commercial and residential development projects in Ireland, U.K., Turkey, Bulgaria and Spain.


Co-founder of The Peace Protocol, an Irish NGO established to support the process of peace-in-the-making; he and his partner were awarded the ACEP Humanitarian Award 2007 for their self-funded work in the earthquake regions of Pakistan and Kashmir. He is interested in the problems of providing effective and sustainable shelter in emergency situations and is involved in a number of humanitarian and social change projects.


He is currently in the process of organising an international workshop for architects, developers and NGOs who wish to partner and work in developing countries and in emergency relief situations by connecting them with other leading architects, engineers and developers in the field of Alternative Building Technology. It will take place in Ireland in Spring/Summer 2008.


Paul OConnor MRIAI is a Member of the Royal Institute of Architects of Ireland.
