are co-operation is
This project is an opportunity for the children and the wider community to explore and treasure the diversity and appreciate the uniqueness of the environmental and cultural heritage of the European Peoples with particular reference to N. Ireland, Denmark, Ireland and Greece. This will involve three main elements viz.
Pupils compile, explore and exchange information about themselves and their region through the media of e-mail, fax, audio tape, video and mail. The schools have established and maintain a Euro'n Treasures Website containing information about the project. This year's work will culminate in the production of a video which will include participating pupils, their respective areas and a joint performance of a specially written song about their environment. Each school will display work on a 'Comenius Noticeboard' in the school and in their libraries. Newsletters will be produced to keep the local schools and the wider community informed of the project.
It is intended that the resulting outcome of the project also harnesses it's potential to enhance the lives of and encourage co-operation between the young Europeans involved and their wider communities. Additionally it provides an opportunity for the teachers involved to employ a wide and varied range of educational methods and interdisciplinary approaches to achieve these objectives.
