The Science of Integration
The perennial philosophy recognises four major levels of understanding.
I refer to these - in geometrical terms - as the linear, circular, point
and radial levels.
Associated with each of these levels is a coherent system of mathematics.
Analytical mathematics - the conventional quantitative approach - is
the product of the (rational) linear level.
However there is a complementary qualitative approach to mathematics
which is related to the three "higher" levels.
I refer to these systems as Holistic Mathematics 1, Holistic Mathematics
2 and Holistic Mathematics 3 respectively.
Surprisingly, the three "higher" levels of mathematics have been greatly
neglected throughout the history of mathematics. The purpose of this extended
discussion is to highlight their precise nature and scientific importance.
