Networks
Computers can be linked together so that they can swap information and share equipment. When two or more computers are joined together in this way they are called a computer network.
There are 2 main kinds of Networks:
LAN (Local Area Network): connect computers within a small area such as a building.
WAN (Wide Area Network): computers all over the world can be linked as part of a Wide Area Network using electricity, a telephone line and a computer terminal.
A Server: is a computer that controls the other computers on a Network.
