Dear Parents, Staff and Pupils, At a recent meeting of the Parents' Association we decided to issue a Newsletter at the end of each school term. We would be delighted to hear suggestions for future issues. Ms. Anne Pardue : e-mail : preswex@eircom.net SOCIAL, PERSONAL & HEALTH EDUCATION Anti-Bullying workshops were held for the first year students. The workshops heightened awareness of of bullying in all its forms, revealed the misery it inflicts and explored strategies to deal with it. The Parents' Council are happy to help with the funding for this project. ENGLISH 5th year classes travelled to Dublin to see Hamlet and in April the sixth years saw Brian Friel's "Dancing at Lughnasa". RELIGIOUS EDUCATION On Ash Wednesday, ashes were distributed from the Prayer Room by Fr. Tom Dalton to mark the beginning of the Lenten Season. The Annual Trocaire Fast was well supported in school, this term : over 100 students participated and raised 1840 Euro. GEOGRAPHY 5th Years completed a field study on land use in Wexford Town as part of their Leaving Certificate Geography studies MATHS Two sixth year teams participated in a "Mathematics Table Quiz" while the first years all took part in a similar school-based competition ; both events were organised by the Maths teachers
