Lough Derg Rally '96
Celebrating 21st Birthday

This is the brass plaque that each participating boat in the Rally received.
The '96 Lough Derg Raly had its official start in Terryglass. The itinerary for the week was to be Gortmore, Mountshannon, Scarriff, Killaloe and ending in Dromineer. However weather decided that there would be a prolonged stay in Gortmore (2 days) and another in Mountshannon (2 days). Because of this, the "jumps" to Scarriff and Killaloe were cancelled. The silver lining was that the competitions went as planned because there wasn't the usual mass exodus to be organised and the subsequent "mooring control" at the next destination to contend with. In fact they went so well there is a section beginning to think that 2-day stays should become a feature of the rally!
