RAKISH PADDY, Champion RID Stallion at the Royal Dublin Society Show in 1995; Reserve Champion in 1989,
1991 and 1993. The Irish Draught Horse breed is classified as an endangered species. There are less than 1,000 breeding mares left on the register in Ireland, with approximately 90 approved stallions in 1997. The modern Irish Draught horse is used mainly for riding disciplines, such as show-jumping, dressage and hunting, as well as police work abroad. Rakish Paddy's first purebred English registered RID colt HILLVIEWFARM MILLIGAN makes his British debut in 1997, with another potential son for the British Studbook in 1998. RAKISH PADDY RID reached Grade "A" in showjumping by 7 and jumped internationally at Dublin, Millstreet and Paris, where he represented Ireland at the Salon du Cheval et du Poney. |
