The above Association (formally the Woodwork Teachers Association)in collaboration with
Coilte The Irish State Forestry Commission have for a number of years
sponsored a prize for excellence in project workwhich was entered by students in the
Department of Education Junior Certificate Materials Technology Wood,
Technology and Leaving Certificate Construction Studies examinations.
Students From St. Brigid's have alwaysbeen well represented in the past
with notable successes by the following:
An unprecedented four projects from the school were chosen for display
at the Associations Annual Conference in Galway in March 1996. This was all the more remarkable
since only fifty projects in total were chosen from schools country-wide for display.

Student projects again Chosen for display at 1997 M.T.W.& T.G Annual Conference
Three projects from the school have been chosen for display
at the Associations Annual Conference in Limerick on the 29th February and 1st March 1997.
Conors Project consists of a working scale model of Crookstown Mill, Ballytore, Co. Kildare.
The Mill has been restored in recent years and is now operated as a museum.
