In particular, our whole school has been working hard in an effort to become a 'Green School'.In this site the pupils describe what the Green Schools Programme is all about and what they've been up to a in order to receive our Green Flag.

The artwork in the crest is the work of one of our teachers. The dominant colours are green (colours of Confey), yellow (the sun) and blue (sky and river). The three yellow ripples represent the three waterways in Leixlip, the Rivers Rye, Liffey and the Royal Canal. Depicted on the crest are the following.

Viking Long Boat: a reference to Leixlip's Viking settlement.

The Salmon: has been associated with Leixlip for centuries. Leim an Bhradain ( Irish) and Lax Hlaup (Danish) both refer to the salmon leaping.

The Hill: irrespective of the derivation of its name, Captains Hill is a very significant landmark and is the main access route to the parish of Confey and the catchment area of San Carlo.

The Church: the ruined church is symbolic of Christian churches at Confey cemetery (12th century) and St.Catherine's. Cill (church) is found also in the name of the County - Cill Dara (The church of the oak wood)

The Tree: is the oak tree - signifying our links with the county (Cill Dara)

Our school aims to be a caring school where children grow and develop and become independent and significant members of society. Children grow, develop and become independent when their creativity/imagination (samhlaiocht) is stimulated, when an ethic of effort and work (saothar) is fostered and where the overriding ethos is one of care (curam), concern and respect for ourselves and others as well as for our school and environment
