Handball is very alive and active in Saint Brigid's G.A.A. Club .

The Clubhouse has two indoor handball alleys , 1 with a viewing gallery with seating capacity for 50 people . 

Two members of the Club have the distinction of achieving World champion status ...Julie Long and Eoin Kennedy .

St. Brigid's had three representatives in America in October '02  competing in the World Championships .

Julie Long , Maria McCarthy and Susan Ennis & Eoin Kennedy  competed in the Open Singles and Doubles . 

Eoin Kennedy fought an epic 2 1/2 hour battle with the Canadian pro , Danny Bell to reach the last 16 in the Open Singles .

Eoin won the All-Ireland singles title in Croke Park on September 7th. , defeating the legendary Duxie Walsh

Also Maria McCarthy won the Womens Junior All-Ireland Title in February 2003 .

 Julie Long .and Susan Ennis reached the finals of the Ladies Doubles . Well done to all . 

The World Championships were held in Dublin from 17th. to the 26th. of October 2003. Over 650 players  participated  from 10 different countries.This year there were  8 St. Brigid's players competing including  Eoin Kennedy , Maria McCarthy and Julie Long .

Congratulations to Maria McCarthy who was recently named Dublin Female Player of the Year in Handball. 2003
