INTRODUCTION TO MY DOLLYHOUSE

About my dollhouse:

At the moment, I don't have a 'proper' dollhouse (as in a real miniature House), but I call my old book case my dollyhouse. The book case used to belong to my grandparents, and it has sliding glass doors, so it's a perfect way to display my little rooms and to protect them from dust and cats!

There is a ground floor, with an art gallery and a jumper shop, and a little lane in between them. Both these businesses are owned by my dollhouse family who live upstairs, on two floors. On the first floor, there's a bedroom, a large living room, and a bathroom. On the second floor, there's a huge kitchen, which is also the chef's bedroom until a proper room is built for him, a sewing room, and a nursery.

I have furniture by Mikael Albrecht (Helsinki, Finland), which I've gotten as various presents from my mam, some other bought pieces, and miscellaneous bits and pieces I've made myself, either from the scratch or from printables.

My family is a colourful one.. The parents and the chef were bought in Helsinki, one of the kids is an old family toy, and the other children come from here and there.. There is also a cat which was found on a train somewhere between Galway and Bray, and two pigs I got for a Christmas pressie from my friend Hanna - she's made them herself. I haven't really named my dolls, although some of them have possible names that may become their actual names someday.. Hmmmm...

I must apologise for the poor quality of the older pictures. This is due to the fact that I've taken them with a web camera, and without a good light source. The dollhouse is in a place where it's not reached by direct daylight, so there are always shadows, and the room only has a dim ceiling lamp, which explains a lot.. But the more recent pictures were taken with a digi cam & flash when necessary, so they are better..
