Where we are

Map of where we are Ballina, situated in the West of Ireland, is the largest town in Co. Mayo and the third largest in the province of Connaught after Galway and Sligo. The town has a population of 9,000 and is the birthplace of the former President of Ireland, Mrs. Mary Robinson. It is a busy commercial and tourist centre and has Irish, American and German promoted industries.
Ballina has an international reputation as an angling centre.
The hinterland is extremely rich in items of interest to biologists, archaeologists and historians. The region contains a wealth of megalithic tombs, monastic ruins, interesting monuments commemorating the French landing in the region in 1798, and the world famous Céide Fields.
