"Creating The Significance of One"

How I Made the Photos

[Identity]

I took the photos in single shot

sessions by overexposing the images

then overdeveloping them then I

printed at a high grade. I learned

the technique while in Art College

in Ireland and I perfected it while

discussing projects with my tutors.

[freeze!]

Like everybody I know, I would like to

be a major photographer and it's okay

if the major studios call me. I like

the stuff being filmed in today's big

film releases -- they kinda shoot right

right at you. What's even better about

films like ID4, The Rock, Eraser,

Twister and Mission Impossible

is how they're based on a badass

conspiracy out there.

[in your eye!]

When Presidential aides in Independence

Day whisper furtively about Area 51,

it's for real, because everyone knows

how all governments cover up the best stuff,

and what's really revealing is a lot

of my friends definitely know what

it is they're covering up.

So, the question is no longer

whether the government is hiding

things from us. And the question

isn't what the government is

hiding. The question of the day

is, what are we gonna do about it?

Why, shoot stuff up, of course.

Which brings me back to what

all these megablaster movies have in

common. And, why, really, I just

love them so very much.

[Make me an offer :-)]

I just love to photograph things

getting blown up. No problem getting

me out of bed if there's an explosion

to photograph. It's the chemistry of

the moment, the breathy anticipation,

the whoosh as the explosion

rushes across my face that turns me on.

Some of my more laid-back friends get off

on the subtle side of life but you can

count me smack in the middle of the

Shoot-em-up Culture cos I just

love it! I get all wired when I hear

about plots reeking with paranoia, with

bad guys who cannot be held

responsible for what they do, where

"the 'hood" is the root of evil.

My solution is simply elegant --

shoot it up!

No need to get alarmed, however.

No cause to blow things out of proportion.

I'm just a photographer, you know.
