SPORTS AND ACTIVITIES


 


At St Tiernan's we have a long tradition of involvement in sports and extra curricular activities.

Soccer Teams compete in Football Association of Ireland School Leagues

Table Tennis Six-times All Ireland School Champions. Training every Monday, Wednesday and Friday under the supervision of a fully-qualified coach. Students have represented Ireland at Junior Level.

Hurling & Gaelic Football Teams participate in GAA School Leagues.

Athletics Students compete in Irish Schools Championships. Training with fully qualified coach each week.

Basketball Available to all students. Teams take part in CCSSCA competitions.

Photography Developing and printing of films in our fully equipped darkroom. Quality instruction also available.

Debating Students are actively encouraged to take part in Debating and Public Speaking competitions at Junior/Senior level. The competitions are on an
internal and external inter school basis.

Chess Teams compete on an internal and inter school basis.

Sailing In the school's sailing club, students are trained in sailing techniques by fully qualified instructors.

Cycling A very successful cycling club is available to all students of St. Tiernan's. They meet Saturday and Sunday mornings outside the school every week throughout the year.

Radio Station Students broadcast from the school's studio at lunch time each day. Recording facilities are available.
