The subject is "Comparative study of educational system". Project aim : to help the children to know their own culture and the culture of the other countries via a comparative study of educational systems.
This project allows for young children to participate in a European project.
Our aim is; to have ten groups in each school which promote gender equality and mixed age-groups.
The common language will be English
This will eventually lead to the joint publication of a paper.
Number of pupils participating in the project
Total: 417 Boys: 233 Girls: 184 Youngest: 4 years old Oldest: 13 years old
Number of participating pupils with special needs: 30. We have included children with Attention D.D.(DAMP in Sweden), Dyslexia and other learning difficulties
Objectives of the Project:
1. To develop self-awareness in the children.
2. To realise and exchange experiences with children of a different culture
3. To research the methodology of Educational systems
4. To learn and improve the knowledge of information Technology as a means of communication
5. To learn and develop better communication skills in English
6. To allow young children to participate in a European project
Approach:
We will have ten groups in each school, which promote gender equality, mixed age groups and use English as a common language.
We will communicate via information Technology.
Intended outcomes
To achieve our objectives.
To enable the children to think critically and to formulate some valuations on the learning process.
Concrete Final Products
The joint publication of a paper containing aspects of school life in the participating schools.

All subjects are involved in our project, for example culture, sport, Physical education, Maths, Literature studies, Art/Craft and Music.

Realisation of the project
Teachers from all participating schools met in Carigeen N.S., Co. Kilkenny, Ireland for a preparatory visit 22 - 24 September 1997.
Before that, the Swedish school had written a project idea in the homepage of EU, Socrates, Comenius, looking for participating schools in different countries.
Within the date of 31 October 1997, the joining schools presented the forms to their National Agency.
During March 1998 the project was approved and it officially started.

Groups compare Maths- the cost of items, financial consideration and monetary union
The study of media reports. To prepare all involved for the new monetary system and to gain a perspective on financial considerations
