The Five Biggest Goofballs I

I was supposed to give more stories about NCW RAMPAGE, and I will in the
near future, but I couldn't pass up a chance to expose some real idiotic
goofballs that have worked or currently work in the independent wrestling scene.
I have whittled my list down to only 5...but believe me, there are a lot more
that are also deserving of this dubious honor. To be listed here is not a form
of flattery. If you are on this list...do us all a favor and get out of the
business.
Here goes!!!
#5 Dennis Richardson
Over a 2 year period, I had booked The Barbarian on several shows for
NCW and a couple of other groups. Barbie is always wonderful to work with, and
is very professional, both in person and on the phone. He shows up early, works
with anyone that you ask, and is a real asset to any promotion. With that
said...I called Barbie to book him again, but after talking with his wife, she
informed me that he was out of the country. She said to call this Dennis
Richardson idiot [I didn't know that he was an idiot at the time], and he would
let me know what dates were open. So I call Richardson, and informs me that he
is the exclusive manager for the Barbarian, and that his fee [Barbie's fee] is
now more than double any figure that I have ever paid him. He also says that the
only way that Barbie will work is if he [Richardson] is booked with him, with an
additional fee of $100.00 plus trans. After almost dropping the phone and
laughing my a$$ off, I told him 'Thanks, but no thanks' and hung up. A couple of
weeks later, I am in Canada, and I get a call from Barbie on my cell phone. He
apologizes for missing my earlier call, and said that he would love to work with
me again. I explained my call to Richardson, and he is shocked. He said that he
[Richardson] was only supposed to confirm open dates, and not to quote any fees
or book himself with Barbie. Because of this, Barbie apparently missed a lot of
bookings that summer. Guys like Richardson give good guys like Barbie a bad
name...Stay away from this idiot!!!!
#4...Jason Brown
This guy may qualify as one of the biggest marks in all of wrestling. [Wait a
minute, that is a pretty strong statement...I better take that back.] Anyway,
Jason works in the ring as El De Gato. He is a 'Mexican Sensation' who
proceeds to do in ring interviews in his thick, southern Kentucky hick
accent...thus killing his entire gimmick. I worked about 6 or 8 shows for him
several years back, and he still owes a lot of people a lot of money. He went
from being drunk in the ring, to ripping off fans with false advertisements. At
one time, I truly liked Jason...we would talk on the phone and we even did a
couple of shows together. But apparently, he has more problems than I have time
to go into. Anyway...avoid at all cost!!!
Next time...Number 3 and 2 biggest goofballs in the business!!
