Several community-based Economic Development Agencies provide support to small and medium sized enterprises serving both the local communities and national and export markets. Several of these have adopted a holistic approach to regeneration, working in partnership with community organisations, the public sector and business to link economic development with the educational, cultural and social life of West Belfast.
There are numerous Economic Development Agencies in West Belfast which have contributed to the development of modern, purpose-built retail, office and industrial development units throughout the area. Local Enterprise Agencies provide spaces suitable for Manufacturing, Warehouse and Office use. They offer flexible leases, competitive rents; and incentive grants are available from the Local Enterprise Development Unit (LEDU) and the Industrial Development Board (IDB).
