The Talbot Hotel on the south end of the quay opened in 1905. | ||

The
hotel closed on January 1st 2003 for major renovations and reopened on
March 14th 2003 following completion of the first phase of an €8
million refit. |

In early March
2003 the scaffolding was removed to reveal part of the new look Talbot
Hotel. |

The site adjacent to the hotel and formally occupied by a petrol station, was cleared and construction of the second phase of the development commenced. | ||

This phase included a new reception, bar and additional bedrooms. | ||
 |
The building was completed in time for the Wexford Opera Festival in October2003 and is an impressive addition to the quayfront. | ||
