John Rowley, confectioner and pastry cook, near The Shambles offered "all kinds of confectionery and foreign fruits for sale at 20% less than any other house in the town". Plum, seed and lemon cakes were on offer as well as caraway and coriander comfits. " Ladies and gentlemen may be accommodated with Spiced Beef, Collar and Hams and return what may not be wanted."

May - W. Andrews of 13 High Street advertised himself as a portrait and landscape photographer. His new studio was "thoroughly warmed". Photos of late, lamented clergy were available.

 

1902

September - Moran's of Parnell Street advertised their Temperance Hotel with bakery, confectionery, fruit and a ladies tea room.

January - The first straw hats made in Wexford went on display at Hadden's. They were known as 'Tuskar Hats'.

April - Hadden's announced that all of their six windows would display only Irish goods for Irish Week.

 

1914

August - Bona fide travellers on production of tickets could obtain access to public houses on Sunday and outside opening hours.
