Local activities
Woodtown House is central to the archaeological sites on Co Meath.
Newgrange, Knowth
and Dowth are only 25 miles/40 kms away.
Kells is a monastic town and 15 miles/24 kms from our home.
This the town where the famous Book of Kells was written and there is
a walking route around the famous town, past the Round Tower . With a
new visitor centre the historic past of Kells is there to enjoy.
Trim. a medieval town, is 10 miles/16 kms away and has the largest Angle-Norman
Caste in Europe. Medieval ruins outside the town centre are a pleasure
to walk through and peaceful and quiet, which can be rare in many heritage
sites in Ireland.
At Woodtown House we specialise in quiet breaks but we are happy to
help arrange more active outdoor activities:
-Golf
There are 4x18 hole golf courses within a 15 mile/24kms radius.
-Angling
Wild brown trout roam the local rivers and fishing can be arranged with
notice.
We support" catch and release" fishing policy in this region.
