Stock Rams in the Cottage Flock

Quitrent Gossip was bred in 2007 by French AI out of a Quitrent ewe by Lyham Vagabond. Last year he was used in Sheep Ireland's Central Progeny Test (CPT). He was identified as a maternal ram and is used to breed ewes. He is class 1 scrapie resistent i.e. ARR/ARR. 

Ballinascraw Gondola was bred in 2007 by French AI out of a Landmark ewe by Coolatore Buttons. He is in the top 5% overall in the genetic merit within the breed. Last year he was used in the Sheep Ireland's Central Progeny Test (CPT) and was identified as a maternal ram and used to breed ewes. He is class 1 scrapie resistent i.e. ARR/ARR. 

Cottage Hawthorn is homebred by the French imported ram, Cottage Whitethorn out of a Tallagh ewe bred from a French imported ewe.  He is in the top 10% overall and for the production genetic trait with an accuracy of 52%. He is class 2 scrapie resistent i.e. ARR/ARQ. This year he has been used in the Sheep Ireland Central Progeny Test (CPT) 

Cam Jupiter joined the flock in 2010. He was not part of the Sheep Ireland recording scheme, but his ancestors were. His sire is Kileen Galihad who is in the top 1% overall and for the production genetic trait with an accuracy of 48%. He is class 1 scrapie resistent i.e. ARR/ARR. 

Carane Kingston is the latest addition to the flock. He was judged Supreme Champion of the 2011 Premier Show and Sale and much saught after by the bidders in the sale ring. At the end he was knocked down to The Cottage Flock for 1,270Euros. Sired by Tallagh Jack, out of a ewe from the Coolatore flock bred from Knockbrack Vinegar, he is a quality sheep.He was part of the Sheep Ireland recording scheme, and scores 4 * in all indices with 30% accuracy for production.  He is also class 1 scrapie resistent i.e. ARR/ARR.
